About the Sword Name Generator

The Sword Name Generator is a free tool that names blades: legendary heirlooms, cursed weapons, holy relics, elemental edges, deed-earned names, and humorous swords for tables that know what they are doing. Pick a blade style, choose a weapon type to flavor the noun, and generate as many batches as you like, with an optional forging lore line on some results. There is no account, no daily limit, and no premium tier, and everything the tool produces is yours to use in fantasy novels, tabletop campaigns, video games, and worldbuilding projects, personal or commercial.

Built on the real morphology of blade names

The corpus is built from original components assembled through the four patterns legendary weapons actually followed: one-word compound epithets, descriptive titles, provenance names, and deed names, a grammar our guide to legendary swords of history and myth traces through Excalibur, Durendal, Kusanagi, and their peers. Every component is invented; the generator contains no blade names from myth or from any modern franchise, and it cannot assemble one, so what it gives you is safe to build on. The weapon-type selector keeps the imagery honest too: katana-style blades draw poetic nouns, axes draw working ones, and daggers stay suitably discreet.

Our sibling sites work at other scales of the same map: the Kingdom Name Generator names the realms these blades defend, and the wider NamesPlease family covers everything from dragons to Vikings. Name the sword here, then give it a kingdom worth serving.
